Subject-matter Acquisition Program
Overview
The
Accelerated Subject-matter Acquisition Program is designed to provide
content review for individuals needing to pass the California Subject
Examinations for Teachers (CSET) as well as the California Basic
Educational Skills Test (CBEST). ASAP supports individuals interested
in a teaching career and veteran teachers needing additional subject-matter
preparation.
Participants
receive preparation in test content, structure, strategies, and
in writing constructed responses. Instructors who are specialists
in their respective fields teach subject specific workshops.
CSET
Preparations is available on a needs basis in the following content
areas:
- Multiple
Subject
- Art
- English
- Mathematics
- Physical
Education
- Science
- Social
Science
- Spanish

CBEST
Preparation is often available before each administration of the
exam and covers reading, writing, and mathematics. General information
regarding test structure as well as alternative methods of meeting
the basic competancy requirement (other than the CBEST) will also
be covered.
CBEST
preparation is provided free of charge. Current CSUSB students are
given priority registration.
