California's
Subject Matter Vierification Process for Secondary Teachers in Special
Settings (VPSS) has been developed to provide an opportunity for
teachers in special program to acquire No Child Left Behind (NCLB)
compliance in four core academic subjects: mathematics, science,
social science, and English. This two level process is designed
to be available over time for teachers "new" and "not
new" to the teaching profession, and new assignments in which
they teach two or more core academic subjects in the specified setting.
Teachers in these setting must be NCLB compliant in at least one
core academic subject, or multiple subjects to be eligible for this
verification process
The
program is sponsored by the Riverside
County Office of Education in partnership with California
State University San Bernardino's, College of Education.
This website is currently
under development. We hope to have more information post in the
near future.
